Histoire
Sina.com est le plus grand portail de divertissement en langue chinoise. Il est dirigé par Sina Corporation qui a été fondée en 1999. Les quartiers généraux financiers de l’entreprise ont été déplacés de la Silicon Valley à Shanghai le 1er octobre 2001. En mars 1999, une fusion a été opérée entre Sina.com et Sinanet.com, les deux plus grands sites chinois alors, devançant ensuite le leader précédent, sohu.com, notamment suite au traitement du bombardement de l’ambassade de Chine à Belgrade, qui aurait été plus étoffé que son concurrent. C’est le premier « .com » chinois à avoir été coté au Nasdaq, à partir d’avril 2000, parvenant à attirer 68 millions de dollars avant le recul de l’indice en mai 2000.
