The Google Video index is the most comprehensive on the Web, containing millions of videos indexed and available for viewing. Using Google Video, you can search for and watch an ever-growing collection of TV shows, movie clips, music videos, documentaries, personal productions and more from all over the Web. The Video index is comprised of videos that people have added using Google’s services (YouTube, Google Video) as well as videos from other third-party sites.
Historia
Google Video es un servicio de Google que permite subir clips de vídeo a sus servidores para que cualquier persona los pueda buscar y ver directamente desde su navegador. Inicialmente nació como competencia de YouTube, a la que terminó comprando el 10 de octubre de 2006. Su objetivo, además de indexar la mayor cantidad posible de video, es llegar a tener todos los programas televisivos. En la actualidad ofrece dos tipos de servicios, uno orientado a los usuarios finales, que permite a cualquiera subir archivos de video, y otro que permite a los creadores de contenido multimedia distribuir sus creaciones pagando una pequeña tarifa.
